MINUTES FOR MARCH 19, 2008
Present were the PTF Officers: Janel Davinroy, Jamie Beliveau, Paula Waller, and Rebecca Miller. Members present were Angie Mueller, Sheila Elser and Becky Wolf.
President, Janel Davinroy called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. and opened with a prayer.
Secretary’s Report was prepared by Rebecca Miller. Janel Davinroy made the motion to approve the minutes and Becky Wolf 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report was submitted by Paula Waller. It is available to view. Balance as of March 19, 2008 was $6,511.89. A motion was made by Janel Davinroy to accept the Treasurer’s Report and was 2nd by Shelia Elser. The Motion was accepted.
Together We’re Better Report was provided by Susan Kilian and read by Janel Davinroy. It is available to view. Balance as of March 19, 2008 was $30,789.64. Janel Davinrony to accept the Together We’re Better Report and Jamie Beliveau 2nd the motion. The Motion was accepted. A brief discussion was made regarding the donation of $200 to the CYO Mission Trip.
Principal’s Report was previously provided by Mr. Leo Hodapp and was available to view.
Teacher’s Report. No teacher attended the meeting or provided a report.
Spirit Wear – No report given.
Dinner Fundraisers Report – No report given.
Old Business:
Catholic School’s Week – Overall went well. Many liked the assigned seating for Welcoming Wednesday. Hopefully, the new gym will be large enough to accommodate everyone next or maybe the idea of assigned seating should be looked at again.
Student Appreciation Day – Due to rain, the zoo trip was cancelled and possibly will be rescheduled.
Mission Trip – TWB donated $200 to their trip.
New Business:
Church Directory – PTF wasn’t in the book and was blatantly snubbed in terms of inclusion.
Field Day – Field Day is scheduled for May 9th and will have a 1:00 p.m. dismissal.
PTF Welcome Committee – Shelia Elser provided an outline of issues and events to include in packet. A discussion of the items listed as well as the information provided in the paragraphs describing each took place. A further discussion of including e-mail addresses took place and it was decided that next year the e-mail addresses should be included in the St. Joseph’s School Directory.
Fun Spot – A discussion in having a Fun Spot Night took place advising that we can rent the hall for $150 / 2 hours and charge $2.00 per skater if you have 50 or more skaters. The $2.00 can be raised to any amount making the money over same a fund raising event. This can be done Monday through Thursday. Janel Davinory made a motion to do this Fun Spot Night and second by Rebecca Miller.
Tuition & Auction – Money comes from the auction and provides the school families with a reimbursement of some tuition. Due to lack of facility, there was no auction this year and no insurance money for the loss of same. The committee members currently are stepping down, for their children are moving on to High School age and therefore, there is a need to find volunteers to take this committee over. Due to lack of attendance, this committee was unable to be fulfilled and therefore, it shall remain open until the next meeting or until the fall. The church / school council asked for a dollar amount of donation and due to the lack of information and attendance, the PTF will be unable to address this request until information is obtained.
Grizzly Game – PTF is hoping to attend another Grizzly Game in June for last year’s game was a really good time. There is a need for a new member to take this event over in coordination of date / time and transportation. A note for a need of volunteer will go out to the families in the next yellow envelope.
Float – Angie Mueller volunteered to take this event over and it was decided that the PTF will donate $200 for the supplies.
Elections will be next meeting. Jamie Beliveau and Janel Davinroy announced that they intend to step down as officers.
It was announced that the next PTF meeting would be Wednesday, May 14, 2008. President, Janel Davinroy led us in a closing prayer and the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
