It has been mentioned that Laurie Kreher was interested in taking this position over.
Principal’s Report was provided by Mr. Leo Hodapp and was available to view. Field Day activities were held outside even though the weather was not favorable; however, it was noted that the school children still had a fun time and needed the day outside even though most went home muddy and wet. The Zoo Trip was a huge success and the kids really enjoyed their day out. May 13th was the Kindergarten and 8th grade students’ last day and a special blessing was provided to them by Fr. Mark. Rotary Field Day was cancelled. AR Lunch in Limo to McDonald’s received a compliment from a patron in the restaurant indicating the good behavior the students exhibited while eating.
Teacher’s Report. No teacher attended the meeting or provided a report.
Spirit Wear – No report given.
Dinner Fundraisers Report – To be addressed later in notes.
There was a brief discussion on the attendance of committee heads at the PTF meeting. Nothing was decided.
Old Business:
Student Appreciation Day – Students went to the Zoo and had a great time. No incidences were reported and the weather was cooperative.
Field Day – Went okay and the students did a fine job at handling the rainy weather and all activities remained outside. As reported above, the students loved it.
Welcome Committee / E-Mails in Directory – The book is being completed and Mrs. Burns will put the e-mail addresses in the directory for the upcoming school year.
Fun Spot – A night out at Fun Spot for St. Joseph’s Students will be scheduled in the upcoming school year.
Grizzly Game / Summer Activities – The Grizzly Game in June will not take place due to lack of interest of chairing such activity. The Pool Party will be scheduled for August and Angie Mueller will handle the PTF float for the Freeburg Homecoming Parade.
Uniform Store – A profit of $300 was made during the Spring Sale and the store is doing well.
TWB – Already stated and discussed above during report of TWB account.
2:00 Dismissals – Mr. Hodapp declined to discuss the change of dismissal time and the schedule will remain as planned. Mr. Hodapp further responded that the teachers have families and the school is trying to accommodate their needs as well for the monthly faculty meetings.
Tuition Assistance and PTF Auction – Prior to this meeting, a discussion forum of the financial status of St. Joseph’s School was held with Fr. Mark leading the assembly. A request of money donation out of the PTF Auction Account was made from the Parish Council. This money is to aide the deficit for the upcoming school year. In past years, the PTF has provided tuition assistance to the students of St. Joseph’s School through the PTF Dinner Auction Account. After long discussion regarding this issue, Marie Davis made a motion to aide the school deficit and provide $27,000 to the budget and not provide personal tuition assistance and Todd Vonderheide second the motion. A vote made the motion final. A discussion regarding the need to form a committee to start working on the 2009 Dinner Auction took place and Todd Vonderheide was made chairman for solicitation. Shelia Elser agreed to hold and start forming the committee and a meeting regarding this will be scheduled shortly. A request for help in working the Dinner Auction will be placed in the bulletin.
New Business:
Donation to AR Auction – A donation of 5 water bottle filled with candy was provided to the AR auction.

Respectfully submitted,
Rebecca Miller Secretary /rlm
