The executive committee met previously and proposed updating the By Laws to accurately reflect current activities and policies. The proposed revised By Laws as well as the 2000/2001 By Laws are posted on the PTF website for review. There will be a vote to accept the proposed changes at the next meeting.

Principal’s Report:

Mr. Hodapp circulated his report for members to read (see attached) and verbally thanked the PTF again for the promethean boards which he said are being used in nearly every subject in every classroom by both teachers and students. Miss Toni agreed and Sheila Elser discussed the installation of activotes in K, 1 and 2. She also mentioned that they received 32 activotes instead of 25 for no extra cost. Miss Toni and the students are excited to use these new tools with the boards.

Family Fun Nights:

The first family fun night was a success according to students and parents. PTF was able to purchase musical instruments and geometry sets for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Music teacher, Mrs. Hootselle, sent a thank you note saying that the students really enjoy the new instruments and she is very happy with this enhancement to the music program. The parish center has been booked for Saturday night, March 28 for another family fun night. Details for this event including separate movies for older and younger students are still being planned. A Open House will be held by the school board in conjuction with Parents Night Out for families considering attending St. Joseph school.

TWB Report:

Dave Collins discussed progress toward this year’s profit goal of $6,000 and payout last week of tuition percentages applied to unpaid tuition. Checks to families who have already paid their tuition in full will be sent next week. TWB set up at the last fish fry and is planning to set up again this week. Suggestion was made to consider a promotion where each $50 purchase enters a chance in a prize drawing. TWB has suspended sales of J Bucks gift cards until Dave confirms acceptance since the Company’s change in ownership.

Old Business:

Julie Neuner has booked Centerfield Park for May 11th for AR Day (May 12th rain date).

Edit

New Business:

• Breadaux Pizza is creating a “Hawks Hangout” section in the store. They will be creating two large banners for students to sign – one will hang in the restaurant and one in our gym. Breadaux suggested we plan a “pack the house” night next year and they would provide pizzas to promote the Hawk’s Hangout.

• Sheila Elser made a request for the dinner auction on behalf of the auction planning committee. The committee would like the PTF to donate tote bags embroidered with St. Joseph’s name to be sold at the auction as “grab bags” – each will include miscellaneous gift cards, coupons, etc. A vote was taken with all those voting unanimously approving the donation.

• Sheila Elser asked all present if there were any other items for discussion or any questions regarding topics presented. No questions or items were presented.

• FIELD DAY: May 8th Field Day activities were suggested with the assistance of some information presented by Sheila Elser from various web sources. Approximately 10 activities were suggested including an all school tag game and the tradition of the 7th and 8th grade tug-of-war. The teams created for this year’s jump-a-thon will be used for Field Day. Sheila Elser will contact the committee volunteers to finish planning details, lunch, and volunteer needs.

Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13.
