St.Joseph School PTF Meeting

September, 9,2009

Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m.

In Attendance: Officers: Sheila Elser-President, Laurie Hill-Secretary; Teachers: Mrs. Fisher and Ms. Ruef; Members and Comm Chairs- MaryPat Davitz and Jane McDonald

Officers Reports: Secretary: Minutes of last meeting were offered online and a copy was passed around, motion was then made and seconded to accept minutes into record.

Treasurer: Treasury report was submitted, report circulated, motion was then made and seconded to accept report into record. Budget report submitted, circulated proposed budget,( see action detail below) motion was then made to accept and seconded to accept 2009-2010 budget, accepted into record.

Committee Reports: TWB: TWB financial report was submitted and circulated. Dave asked that more educational items be purchased with PTF funds. He also asked people to please talk up TWB to your family and friends to help reach the PTF goal

Family Fun Nights: Comm Head Carol Schanuel organized the first two Family Fun Nights to benefit PTF. Announced was a skating party at Fun Spot October 8, 2009 and a “Parents Night Out” Santa’s Cottage/Movie on December 5, 2009. If anyone has an idea for a Family Fun Night activity contact Carol. (See actions detail below)

Principals Report: Ms. Ruef gave report that school was off to a great start, she was anxious to get to know all the children and families of St.Joseph , other items reported on were the Magazine Drive, and improvements to the school uniform policy and class schedule refinement. Ms. Ruef also talked about establishing a series of informational meetings to be offered to parents to talk about current curriculum and to give parents opportunity to have questions they may have answered. Dates TBA.

Old Business: Talk of possibly carrying TWB at Green Mill Service was tabled until further talk of checks and balances is done.

New Business: Motion was made to alternate the PTF meeting to a Wed/ Tues schedule to accommodate differing schedules, motion seconded, approved and recorded.

Announcements: Mrs. Fisher thanked the PTF for the teachers start up money for the 2009-2010 school year, she expressed all the teachers appreciation. Ms. Ruef reported that her leg is feeling much better and is healing well. Volunteers needed for Dec 5th Parents Night Out to help wrap students gifts, also donations of gently used or new items for the Santa’s Cottage would be greatly appreciated

Actions Taken Summary:

2009-2010 Budget Actions*Teachers Start Up money and the Child Enrichment program money will be combined and include Classrooms, Library, and Computer Lab. $200.00 will be given to each prior to the start of the next school year. A date of Aug 15 was decided on for disbursement of funds. *Motion accepted to keep the Christmas Gift Gesture for all St.Joseph School staff to the parents and parishioners and PTF will handle the Teacher Appreciation Day and Staff Birthday Gift. * The goal set for PTF to fund the 2009-2010 school year is $9500.00.

Family Fun Night Actions* Skating Party at Fun Spot Oct 8,2009 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. flyer to go home with students. This was a profitable and very fun activity for all last year.* “Parents Night Out” scheduled for Dec 5, 2009. Students will have opportunity to shop at a Santa’s Cottage for family and friends, have the items wrapped, and enjoy a Movie. Flyer will be sent home with students.
